Billy Corgan — the legendary frontman and creative force behind The Smashing Pumpkins — will come to the Queen Elisabeth Hall on Sunday September 6 for two unique concerts (3 PM and 8 PM) with a unique orchestral interpretation of The Smashing Pumpins’ landmark 1995 double album. Blending rock, classical music, cinematic visuals and symphonic arrangements, A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness promises to be a unique live experience — a rare opportunity to discover the iconic album live in a set-up like never seen before.

Billy Corgan has achieved an almost mythic status as founder, frontman and creative driving force behind the legendary band The Smashing Pumpkins. A Grammy Award winner, his powerful songwriting, distinctive voice and inventive melodies formed the foundation of the monumental double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, a record that defined an entire generation. Today, Corgan brings this reimagined production to Europe to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this groundbreaking album, in line with his signature drive for innovation, creativity and artistic boldness.

The result is A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness, a new creation inspired by one of the greatest alternative albums of all time. On Sunday, September 6, 2026, Corgan will present two exclusive concerts (3pm and 8pm) at the Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp, where he will perform the iconic The Smashing Pumpkins album in a completely reworked orchestral version. The opera re-imagines and pays homage to the era-defining album of the same name, whilst also expanding the definition and intention of opera. It transforms the beloved record into an expansive symphonic universe, combining the power of rock music with the grandeur of a 100-piece orchestra and choir.

Audiences will experience Billy Corgan alongside special guest artists, supported by the powerful sound of opera, orchestra and choir, in a fully new audiovisual experience. Whether you are a fan of The Pumpkins eager to rediscover their music in a rich new dimension, or simply looking for a surprising and original artistic project, A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness promises to be one of the absolute highlights of the season.
